Culturally Informed Holistic Therapy

I’m so glad you found your way here. Perhaps you've been carrying a heavy weight of anxiety lately, or maybe the hum of daily stress has started to feel like too much to manage on your own. Whatever brought you to this page—whether you’re facing a specific hurdle or simply want to understand yourself more deeply—please know that you don't have to carry it all by yourself. I’m here to walk alongside you

Our Philosophy

Welcome to Prana Therapy Co. Our name is inspired by the concept of Prana—the life force and breath that flows through each of us. We are here to help you identify and move through the obstacles that may be holding that energy back, offering a therapeutic partnership built on deep respect for your personal goals. At the heart of our practice is a commitment to inclusivity; we honor every facet of your identity, including your ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation. Here, you are seen, respected, and supported in your journey toward change.

How We Can Support You

Every journey is unique, and we believe in honoring the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. We specialize in helping you reconnect with your natural flow and move through the areas where life feels heavy or stuck:

  • Calming the Mind & Body (Anxiety & Stress): Anxiety often shows up as a racing mind or physical tightness. We help you quiet the noise and release that stored tension, clearing the "blocks" that prevent you from feeling present and at peace in your own skin.

  • Flowing with Change (Life Transitions): Life is a series of seasons. Whether you are navigating a career shift, a move, or a change in your relationships, we provide the grounding support you need to find your center and move through transitions with grace.

  • Coming Home to Yourself (Identity & Self-Discovery): Your identity—your culture, gender, and sexuality—is the essence of who you are. We offer a respectful, soulful space to explore your true self, ensuring every part of your lived experience is seen and celebrated.

  • Restoring Your Natural Balance: When we get stuck in emotional "loops," our vital energy can feel drained. We work together to find your way back to a state of balance, helping you regulate your nervous system so you can feel more aligned and vibrant.

  • Honouring Your Inner Protector: If you’ve been carrying weight of past experiences, you may find yourself living in "survival mode." We gently work to unburden those heavy layers, offering deep gratitude to the part of you that has worked so hard to keep you safe, while creating space for your spirit to finally breathe and grow.

A Quick Guide for Parents & Guardians

If your child or teenager has asked to start therapy, or if you feel they might benefit from a supportive space, it’s natural to have questions. At Prana Therapy Co., we believe that a healthy, supported young person is a gift to the whole family.

1. A Partnership of Trust

For therapy to be effective, a young person needs to feel that their sessions are a "private haven." While I value the role you play in their life, I maintain a high level of confidentiality with my young clients. This trust is what allows them to open up and do the deep work of healing.

2. How You Are Involved and Why it Matters

While the sessions themselves are a private space for your child, your support at home is a vital part of the healing process. Research shows that when parents are engaged and supportive, young people often feel more secure and make more sustainable progress, as the healing work continues long after the session ends. I provide periodic updates on general progress and can offer you tools and "home strategies" to help support the growth they are doing in the room. If there is ever a serious concern regarding your child’s safety, I will involve you immediately.

3. Supporting the Journey

The best way to support your child during this time is to:

  • Respect their space: Avoid asking "What did you talk about today?" after a session. Instead, a simple "I'm glad you went" is perfect.

  • Be patient: Growth often happens in waves. Some days they may feel lighter, and other days they may be quiet as they process big feelings.

  • Honour their courage: Acknowledging that it takes strength to ask for help goes a long way in building their self-esteem.

4. Cultural & Identity Respect

If your family comes from a migrant or CALD background, please know that I deeply respect your family's values and heritage. I work to ensure that therapy is a bridge-builder, honouring the wisdom of your culture while supporting your child’s individual needs.
