FAQs
Who do you work with?
I work with young adults 16+ years and adults
How long are appointments?
Each therapy appointment is 50 minutes long
Do you accept Mental Health Care Plans (MHCPs)?
Since counsellors and psychotherapists aren't covered by Medicare rebates, you won't need a GP referral or a Mental Health Care Plan to begin therapy with us. To take the next step, simply visit our contact page and send us a message.
What can I expect in my first appointment?
Your initial appointment with me is simply a chance for us to connect and see if we're a good fit. If this is your first time exploring therapy, or if you're a seasoned traveler on this path, this session is entirely your space to unfold your story. I'll be guided by what you share, paying close attention to your thoughts, feelings, and unique perspective. I might ask questions to help us both gain a clearer understanding.
Ultimately, the strength of your therapeutic journey comes from the relationship we build together. So, our first session is also an opportunity for you to experience my style, understand how I approach therapy, and decide if it resonates with your individual needs. Please don't hesitate to ask me anything about the therapy process or my specific approach.
How many sessions will I need?
Therapy is a very personal process, so the number of sessions will vary based on your unique needs and what you hope to achieve. We can provide short-term support if you're looking to address immediate concerns, or embark on a longer-term journey for deeper self-discovery and transformation. While we believe in the power of therapy, it's worth noting that meaningful, lasting change is a process, not a quick solution.
What are your fees?
Individual sessions are charged at a standard rate of _ including GST
Access to quality therapy is important to us. For this reason, we set aside a limited number of reduced-fee options for clients experiencing financial hardship or unique circumstances. To explore if this is right for you, please complete our contact form. We'll then have a chance to discuss it further in your free 15-minute consultation and at your first appointment.
NDIS - if you are self managed or have a plan, you may be eligible to utilise your funding to access therapy at Prana Therapy Co. Simply complete out contact form with any necessary details and your questions.
Do you offer tele-health or phone sessions?
Yes, we offer both phone and video sessions.
Recognising that some individuals may prefer face-to-face interactions, we also plan to offer in-person appointments in the future. This phased approach ensures that you can access the care you need in a way that best suits your preferences and circumstances. Whether you're seeking immediate support or prefer the option of in-person therapy down the line, we're committed to providing adaptable and comprehensive mental health services.
Privacy in therapy
For therapy to be truly helpful, a strong foundation of privacy and trust is essential. What you share in your sessions remains strictly between you and your therapist. This commitment to your privacy extends to every aspect of our practice, including how your information is collected, securely stored, and appropriately disposed of. Please be assured that video or phone sessions are never recorded.
However, there are a few important exceptions to these privacy boundaries:
-
If you disclose that you are at serious risk of harm to yourself or to others.
-
If you share information indicating a minor, child, or vulnerable adult is at risk of harm.
-
If your therapist is legally required by a court subpoena to release notes or records.
